Commercial dog food is generally the cheapest as it is produced with meat bi-products and vegetables, highly processed at high temperatures, normally a large amount of artificial elements are added e.g. vitamins as the base food has lost most of his nutritional value. “Natural” and “Organic” then are two separate classes. They are both better than the typical commercial pet food but they require distinction from each other. Companies who use the “natural” term have more flexibility than going “organic” as organic is certified and the animals are free range, no antibiotics or growth hormones are used, in other words, organic foods are always natural, but natural foods may not necessarily be organic, our dog food is entirely 100% organic.
Lean how to read labels. In the chart below, “Yes” and “No” refer to the base standards of the USDA (US certification) for food fit for human consumption.
